Get a life

I met this guy a few days back…

I do not know what you would conclude after the first line but I wouldn’t just jump up to the conclusion that I like this guy or I want something to do with him; but apparently I live in a kind of society where when a girl talks to a man in a friendly manner he has to be ‘something more than a friend’.

I am not the kind of person who would blend easily but once I am comfortable one could be my really good friend in a couple of days and this happened with this person. So I met him and we really connected, I mean we like each other’s company; at least I think that ways and hence we have been spending too much time together. My family doesn’t seem to have any problems and neither does his but seemingly the ‘society’ has. People have been passing lewd comments on us and have made it almost intolerable for me to listen to them.

I simply do not care about people but there is a point after which it just gets into your nerves and you want them to go get a life. I mean even if he is my boyfriend why is it such an issue to the people around? I am truly humiliated in a past couple of days by the ways people have been talking about me and these are the times when I regret staying in India.

  1. Who cares about the society when your closed ones don’t mind.
see, I read this something so beautiful that I can’t explain in words, it was like
“be who you are, do what you want, say what you feel
because those who mind doesn’t matter, and those who matter doesn’t mind”

  2. Those who have time to interfere and think about other’s lives are good for nothing, they don’t even have anything to do with their own lives. Even I do have a best friend and yes, many think the same that you have explained. But that doesn’t matter as for the first reason he is the son of my father’s best friend so family don’t have any and its about 7 yrs now people around also realise the same. Rather than thinking about them don’t you think we must value this valuable time and enjoy. I am more excited to know what will happen next. Pls do share with us.
    Good luck

  3. well it seems the black hole of the internet swallowed my first comment.
I know how you feel as I have felt the eyes, words and hands of those who do not approve of my choice of women to be with.

  4. It has been said many times by many people that we shouldnt mind what other people think about us..we should believe in ourselves..etc…etc..
But i understand how you feel…and its pretty much normal to feel that way despite of all the awareness on that matter..

    Stand high and still though…

  5. Well…. End of the day all that matters is your happiness that ultimately becomes the happiness of your family. I know it’s hard to say just chuck the society however one thing that I’m very sure about is, you won’t be drenched into it for long. 😇😇

    1. Oh yes, I think I am already out of it. It bothered me too much for the first couple of days but now I roam with him wherever I want. In the end I am happy and no one that matters to me has a problem with that. I am trying to just ignore the society!!
Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts on this, 🙂
