The disturbingly melodious song!

“Tera mujse hai pehle ka nata koi, yu hi nahi dil lubhata koi

Janee tu, ya jane naaaaaaa, mane tu ya mane na.”

How many of you remember this song? Not the new one, the really old version.

I love this song, adding it to one of my favourites.

This song comes to me today, bringing back old memories, as old as my school memories.

Of course every class has two types of students, the front benchers, the docile and obedient ones and the last benchers, the naughty and the cheeky ones. I was among the front benchers, usually seated in the corner, doing my own work, literally not caring about anyone else, which of course made me somewhat as an attitudinal one. (Really not the case though)

And then comes the mischievous and the impertinent ones. They like to be the class gang, will want to know everything going on in the class, will interfere in your work, and even pull your leg to an extent making you feel uncomfortable, and they look somewhat as rude and arrogant. (Again not the case though)

They are just different from each other.

Yes, so I was the front bencher, and I was always immersed, on God knows what, never giving them enough heed. But today this song makes me go back to those days, among those very people who might have pulled my leg someday.

Our class had this huge gang sitting at the back, always playing games inside the class. You name it and they might have played it. But their best game for me was playing ‘Antakshari” Oh they sang such beautiful songs sometimes in the class, but of course it did not end there, obviously they had to add their ‘singing touch’ to it, making the song disturbingly melodious. But it was fun in the end.

So, why this particular song?

They had the talent to destroy this song to such an extent, you could not even think of it. They would literally shout at the top of their voices, sometimes making the teachers from the staff-room come to our class and make them stop singing. And then we would all have a good laugh, not to forget the melodious singers.

They would laugh at their own voice and start singing, yet again.

*
So this post is dedicated to those singers of my class, some of whom might be reading this now. I wish them a lifetime of singing talents, but above that, sheer happiness.

  2. Beautiful song……
Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
    Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
    Maane Tu Ya Maane Na

    Dekho Abhi Khona Nahin
    Kabhi Juda Hona Nahin
Ab Ke Yoohin Mile Rahenge Dono
Vaada Raha Ye Is Shaam Ka
    Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
    Maane Tu Ya Maane Na

Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
    Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
    Maane Tu Ya Maane Na

Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
    Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
    Maane Tu Ya Maane Na

    Dhuaan Dhuaan Tha Vo Samaan
    Yahan Vahan Jaane Kahan
Tu Aur Main Kahin Milay Thay Pehle
Dekha Tujhe To Dil Ne Kaha
    Jaane tu ya jane na
    Maane tu ya mane na

    Tu Bhi Rahi Mere Liye
    Main Bhi Raha Tere Liye
Pehle Bhi Main Tujhe Baahon Mein Leke
    Jhooma Kiya Aur Jhooma Kiya
    Jaane tu ya jane na
    Maane tu ya mane na

Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
Tera mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi
    Yuhin Nahin Dil Lubhaata Koi..
    Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

  3. It is a very melodious number Moushmi. Some songs get imprinted in our minds. Years later when we listen to it, it triggers the memory associated with it. I am glad the song took you on a nostalgic trip down the memory lane,

  4. Hi Moushmi,

I am not familiar with that song, but I know that we remember every song with our emotions, and every song within us awakens certain emotions. When we hear some song we are in the same state as the first time we heard it!

  5. Such a sweet post and yes it does pulls me back to school not very far left. I still feel school right now. And about this song I did know about it but hey! I never noticed it. Yes this is the most fine categorization of classmates and the singers among them. They are more than where they belong. Mostly people what we make an image of are something different. So yeah we did play this game of “antakshari” but in the bus when we left for school trips and sang until throats were paining which of course gave a good deep sleep. But as we were in boarding we had to hoot loud of leaving a jail kind of place(not the case though😂) and booed upon from backs. This post has so much for me to speak so maybe I may write similar post like this. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories😊

  6. Really sweet post, made me remember my school days. I was a second last bencher which made me cool but with the almost tag. This I have carried till date.. always almost there 😀
We didn’t sing songs but did make the front benchers and their teachers miserable, to name the mildest crimes committed 😈

      1. Well now I know..best part of being next to the last bench was we never got caught, teachers were obsessed with the last bench 😛

  7. School ki yaad dila di aapne!! 😢
but i dont completely fit in any of the two categories you described! I was a combination of both infact! – docile, obedient, introvert and a backbencher!! Buried in books and doing my own work!! And scared all the time! And a juicy target of the backbencher bullies! Ufff! 😣 those tales!
That singing thing happened with us too! There was one boy who was such a melodious singer that i used to think he would definitely become a singer one day! (He is an engineer now 🙄) .. and then there was another one who used to play musical instruments well and together they would perform in class with everyone joining them at the pitch of shrill voices!! (And i would be sitting in a corner with books 🙄…and scared that if any teacher comes now from staffroom and punish the whole class then i will be a victim unnecessarily 😄)…..i wish i had fun back then and at all the times when i had a chance!! Just today morning i was thinking that we sacrifice childhood for better education, sacrifice youth for better job, sacrifice adulthood for post-retirement comfort and then post-retirement realize it’s too late to enjoy anything!! So we should enjoy when we can!!

    1. Well we are all caught in that rat race!
      What can I say?
You would have been punished even if you were singing, or even if you weren’t. So might ass well sing and enjoy,
PS: I have a knack for memories. I just love relieving them
Some say I live in the past because of this. but this is what keeps me moving to the future too.
      Just my take!

      1. Yeah…rat race! ☹️
You also live in the past?!! 😊 Half the day spent in memories of old and trying to live them again! Do you often look at old pictures and get lost in them?! And how things changed all along…i have treasured all the things i could of the past and visit them often..even silly ones! People say to throw away the junk but that is my treasure and i feel attached to them…
Loved your take on it!! “but this is what keeps me moving to the future too”! 👌 i will borrow it next time someone says anything 😄😄
