We have come to live in such a society, among such people that you don’t expect people to really care these days. And when someone shows or even tries to show that he or she cares, it is so surprising that we need a moment to sit back and think about what just happened.
I have come to believe and assume that people in general really are selfish and mean, and also so very self obsessed, but once in a while I do come across so polite and selfless people that I have to sit back and think what and how it just happened? It takes me back, with so much surprise that all my mind asks is, “How was this person so nice? And more importantly, Why?”
It doesn’t matter if the person is helpful of not, all it matters is the intention of that person. Most people have just forgot to be simply nice.
Intention maters everything! Great post

Absolutely Moushumi. I too am touched by such intent that some kind hearted souls show. This of course is very rare….guess that’s why it stays in our minds!

Absolutely, it always sticks around for it is very rare.

I agree. Kindness is forgotten. I am trying to re-learn it

Well written. This is the reality of life. Surviving in such a consumptive world is a real challenge.

Hi Moushmi,
no matter what kind the people are around us, or in this world, no matter what they motives are, we should be nice and kind, not because of them, but because of us 🙂

I agree with you on this, if we all start being the selfish ones, the world is never going to be a better place to live in.

Yeah I find this interesting 🙂 Sometimes there is suspicion of ‘what’s in it for you’ when a person is pure kind. It takes time for such people to be known for what they are.

I can understand her as well as your mental state. But when it comes to faith in people online, I guess it’s a whole other scenario.

Yeah so true dear! When people are actually selfless and helping we don’t believe they actually are, coz v are used to seeing selfish, jealous people!

The situation is such that if a person is nice we tend to doubt it that it must be for his/her own selfish means. It’s hard to believe someone being nice these days and it will be worst in future.

Was just talking about this to a friend recently who was upset that people these days care less about the feelings of others while they continue to remain inside their little sphere of ‘me and myself’ that it shocks us to take heed of someone who is not. I am in agreement with your thoughts

Thanks a lot for sharing your views, I totally agree, people do need to think beyond, ‘I, me and myself’.

That’s so true! It warms the heart if someone is really nice and caring but yes the question do arise then if it’s due to some malicious intent or genuine! So we need to be careful too since in general we usually come across mean and selfish people and such doubts are expected…. Both kinds of people exist in the world and if we really find a selfless honest person then we should consider ourselves very lucky and make sure never to lose that person! we should also try to be the selfless ones even if others are selfish as that is the defining difference…we need to be good natured for ourselves…for our conscience…warna sab log hi bure ho gaye to duniya ka kya hoga!! 😕😟
Great post once again!! 👍

Thank you. I still am always unsure when I meet such selfless people, till the end, theere is always a hint a pang, that somewhere things will go wrong. He/she can’t be that good.

You have said it perfectly! If things go so well then we do have inner fear and doubt as to how is it possible…there surely must be something more than what meets the eye! But then maybe such people do exist and intention may be genuine? This reminds me of a short story ‘The Accursed House’ by Emile Gabriau….it was in my class 8 curriculum and i loved it! Do read it if you get a chance…so i feel maybe we should give a chance till whole truth is out?
And another angle is maybe a perfectly selfless person doesn’t exist so should we compromise with someone who is like mostly selfless but selfish sometimes (but then we all have some weaknesses..maybe we ourselves can act selfishly sometimes!)…🤔…but on second thoughts it looks like a repulsive idea!….complicated!!!

Well, it is complicated, only because we can’t read other people’s minds. If we had that ability, the problem would have been solved 😀

Yeah sometimes feel like if we could do what farookh sheikh did in ‘chamatkar’ serial!(it’s pretty old so not sure if you would have heard about it)…
I really wish to have those powers and the power to go invisible 😬
But jokes apart, yes we cant read minds but past experience can help us to be more cautious in future

Well, you are right. Not heard about that serial. But yes, invisible powers does sound good.
