Why We Need Feminism In 2021 #1

Why we need feminism in 2021?

Because as soon as you saw the picture here, the first thought would have been, “What now? Why now? Why is this woman talking about feminism again? Hasn’t it been enough? सब कुछ तो मिल गया, अब और क्या चाहिए?

We need feminism in 2021. We need to talk about feminism in 2021, not just because we need it but also because evertime someone uses the F word it seems like they are using a slang, a word which needs to be looked down upon, or a word that has given more importance than it deserved, an over-emphasised word. Feminism is not over-emphasised. If at all it is under-emphasised. People just are unaware of what actually it stands for.

We need feminism in 2021 because everytime I talk about it people look at me like I am a different species altogether, or I am the one who is wrong in saying or doing something, someone being absolutely unreasonable.

This is not just one reason that I will give you. I have a few more of them. All month long I plan to give you my reasons for why we need feminism still, but there is a reason behind the reason too. Can you guess what?

Tell me why you think, I am sharing a series of reasons for feminism here all of a sudden. Shoot your guesses now!

  1. We need feminism more than ever. Everyone can and should be. Why it disturbs us to discuss women’s issues and pitted against a patriarchal society, inequalities perpetuated by caste? It’s important to speak about what women face in everyday lives and how, despite education, they are discriminated against again. You are right. It’s important for an equal society we can dream and want.

  3. Feminism has become such an emotive word … and if you want men to read this [as it’s their attitudes that need to change] then using a loaded word is pointless!

VPub said it right, we need equality, respect these issues have never been resolved 😦

  4. I think people look down upon feminism because they have either no idea or pre conceived ideas about what is is. Some people think feminists are man haters.. without even realising that actually the patriarchy can be damaging to men, with the gender norms it upholds men to, as well as for example toxic masculinity.

Your perception holds importance for me.
