A Million Little Things!

From unknown to known,

From being fellow bloggers to blogger friends,

From reading to sharing,

From solace to comfort,

From silence to spreading the thought,

You lovely people have stayed with me,

Carried the burden of my unjustifiable words,

Put along with my never-ending emotional tantrums,

And also entertained me with some of my irrational posts,

More so this has all happened without any judgements on my character,

And all the more, you have given me,

A million little things to cherish;

For which I can’t thank anyone of you enough.

All of you, every one of you have always remained,

And will always remain close to my heart.

A big thank you,

And a very Happy friendships day.

For a friend is not one who talks to you everyday, and hangs out with you, who brings you gifts and cuts a cake with you on your birthday, with whom you share all your secrets and with whom you go shopping. He is not someone with whom you just discuss your latest girl crush, or with whom you go out and eat because you are in the mood.

A friend is someone who is simply there for you when you need them, who will sit at home and listen to you while you ramble away all your miseries, again and again. He is someone who will know what’s wrong, with one look, and will not let go until you let go of what you are hiding. He is someone who will laugh at you after knowing, what’s troubling you, but will be with you all the same. A friend is not someone who posts with you 20 different photos on social media, but in the end, forgets that there is a life outside of social media. (I get the irony of posting this on a blog)

Walter Winchell was absolutely right in saying, “A friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.”

A year older! A year wiser?

Yesterday, I turned a year older, or to say a year wiser?

Any which ways this specific day has always been overwhelming to me, not only in positive circumstances but otherwise too.

This day, I realise sometimes my importance in other’s life. I know how much they mean to me and I make it clear too, in some way or the other but I get to know my significance on this day. (There are a lot of other reasons other than wishing me for my birthday)

It’s not about wishing me a “happy birthday”, it is after all just my birthday. But it is about just remembering me. There were many people who did forget me, and did make me a little uncomfortable, made me wonder as to why was I losing people year after year.

I just realised yesterday that I always say that I am searching myself, but in that quest I am also losing people. That is the price I am paying.

Anyways, this post isn’t about them, it is about those lovely souls who made my day “magical”. 😉

And I could not believe my eyes when those warm wishes touched my heart. Yes, my friends and family did wish me, but there was an unexpected turn when wishes from the virtual world came pouring in.

First off, dear Elizabeth, thanks a lot for your warm wishes here, the messages and the tweets, it did mean a lot to me. You basically wished me at every possible virtual place, not to forget your virtual hug and that LOUD singing of the birthday song. Your voice isn’t that bad, you know.

Then there were unexpected tweets from fellow bloggers kalyan and shivam. Thank you both of you for those lovely wishes.

Had it been a year before now, I wouldn’t have believed that I’d have virtual friends, that too such lovely people.

Apart from this, you know what I loved? Bhavna, a special friend of mine, she made me feel so special, I just love her a lot. And yes, one more thing, Mr. Yadu, he wrote me such a wonderful poem, I couldn’t believe my eyes, staring at that message. Thanks a ton for that too! I mean, a poem? For me? Oh my god!!

There were a lot of things that I could go on thanking for, but I don’t want to make it a thank you note. So I’ll stop here.

But I need to say one more thing, the thing that has made me even happier, the best thing that happened to me last week apart from the poem of course! So all week long, I kept getting packets from a courier company; and you know what it revealed? What it had hidden beneath?

Books! Novels!

What could just make it any better? It counted to a total of 16 books!!!!! The last package delivered to me yesterday, containing 7 books.

And I am just so happy now, what other gift could have been better for me?

So may be a little wiser after all.

Know the blogger #1

This idea was initiated by a fellow blogger friend Ajay Kontham, his blog address is- https://www.ajaykontham.in/

He just did this post about “know the blogger” where he has answered 150 questions about him. And I kind of liked the idea, may be we could know each other better this way! So I am going to answer all of the questions that he has sent me here, only I have tried breaking them into sections. I couldn’t have answered all of them at a go. I hope you like what you are reading, and if I start boring you, let me know, I’ll just stop right at that question.

1.If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I am too much in love with sleep, to believe that sleep can just vanish out of my life. I have to sleep, I’d probably cheat on my husband with it!

  1. What is your favorite piece of clothing you own / owned?

The cute little black dress that I have. It almost goes everywhere.

  1. What hobby would you pick up if time & money weren’t an issue?’

I’d take up dance lessons, that is the only thing that I have never been able to complete.

  1. What does your perfect room look like?

A master bedroom, with the ‘princess diaries’ type closet, a balcony attached with a garden view. Not much furniture though. I’d like the room to be spacious

  1. How often do you play sports?

Like almost, never.

  1. What fictional place would you like to visit?

I don’t know, all I can say is, it’s fictional and I just cannot bring myself to believe that I can visit the place. Fiction is fiction. It ain’t happening!

  1. What job would you be terrible at?

Anything related to math and numbers and finance. Like seriously, I can’t handle them.

  1. When was the last time you climbed a tree?

When I was six or seven! I made a terrible fall and it was made sure I never did that again.

  1. If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal for?

Reading!

  1. What is the most annoying habit that you or other people have?

Others- discuss and get too much involved into others’ matters. I mean mind your business why interfere so much in someone else’ private matter.

  1. What job do you think you’d be really good at?

Organising and management, and that is the reason I was into wedding planning for quite a while.

  1. What skill would you like to master?

Writing!

  1. What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?

As of now, I want to go trekking. I have not been on a single trip for trekking yet.

  1. If you had unlimited funds to build a house to live on for the rest of your life, what would the finished house look like?

I am imagining this, right?

Okay, so it has a wonderful garden below when you enter, parking space on the corner, the first floor should have a sitting room, kitchen, a spare bedroom. The top floor has two bedrooms, one for kids, and then a small study (that would sure be my special place.) and then finally a pool terrace beside which I wouldn’t mind a small library. Well I could do with that in the study too, but just the thought of reading beside the pool, hooked me up.

  1. What’s your favorite drink?

Coffeeee! Apart from that I don’t drink anything that much.

  1. What state or country do you never want to go back to?

As of now I have never left my country, so can’t answer this.

  1. What songs do you have completely memorized?

A very old song by Lata Mangeshkar- ‘Lag ja gale k fir ye haseen rat ho nah ho.”

  1. What game or movie universe would you like to live in?

I really can’t imagine living in a world completely different form this. Had it been a book situation or a place, I’d say with MR. Darcy at Pemberley hills 😀

  1. What do you consider to be your best friend?

Books and journals. They listen to me when I write on them, and give me a lot to learn from them too.

  1. Are you usually early or late?

Oh, very easy question. Always early! As if I love to wait.

  1. What pets did you have when you were growing up?

I have just had fishes and I still like to feel that I am growing up.

  1. When people come to you for help, what do they usually need help with?

Love matters, especially boyfriends! I mean seriously, don’t these people have other problems?

  1. What takes up too much of your time?

Thinking, and then some more thinking, and then some more.

  1. What do you wish you knew more about?

About myself.

I am still finding myself. I don’t know in which part of the world I am lost, but I sure am!

  1. What would be your first question after waking up from being frozen for 100 years?

Why God, Why? Why and how by any possible means, I am still alive with this withered body and this lost soul of mine?

  1. What are some small things that make your day better?

Talking to my brother, spending time reading (books and blogs), writing, and a little bit of comedy shows at night.

  1. Who’s your go-to band or artist when you don’t know who or what to listen to?

None, specific.

  1. What’s the best way to start the day?

As soon as I wake up I put on some soft music on my phone, then I sit down on the bed, and sit and smile. Like really, I do that. Then I stretch myself as far as I can, and then jump out of the bed. This works for me.

  1. What TV shows do you like?

I am obsessed with F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Apart from that I can watch any comedy series or shows. That’s it no more tv than that. I can’t handle anything else.

  1. What TV channel doesn’t exist but really should?

Something where they show authors and writers, talk about them, interview them, keep updated about the latest books coming up and basically anything that’s happening new in the book world.

My pen pal

Very few of us have the opportunity to connect with wonderful people. I am one of them. I have had the opportunity to connect and know one of the lovely souls here, Angel Clough. She is one lovely woman and is progressing tremendously with her book. I have had this chance of meeting her and talking to her about various things like our different cultures, religions and even our interests. She has been very helping lately. Her vivid experience has helped me a lot and she keeps sharing her various experiences with me. The best thing she ever told me was I should keep a journal and it is sure going to help in recording all of my experiences.

She has a wonderful website going where she blogs and writes about her book. It is quite intriguing. She is writing a book about pen pals, but come to think of it she has become one of my pen-pals.

Her link is: https://angelclough.com/

Check it out, it will just hook you up.
