June Reads!

June was supposed to be the month where I barely read, or barely finish at least one book. Contrary to my assumptions, these are the following books that I read I June and I am pretty sure you can judge me for reasons to follow!

I am into mythical reads and the retelling of the Mahabharata from Kunti’s point of view was not only poetic but also so very enchanting. Initially, this was the plan, to finish the above book and go back to studying for the exams. What I did, instead, was this:

I kept telling myself that I am studying for the exams but I got bored and so I only thought of, I repeat only thought of scraping through the pages of this:

I ended up finishing this too.🤓🤐

And this was lying at my table for so long that I took pity on it and picked it up next. Now, the pity went too far, for I finished this midway of June. Now, really Moushmi you need to study for exams. And so I did. But the papers could ask you anything from fiction, non-fiction, dystopian. And so the next book knocks on the door, makes the puppy face and allures me. Okay, of cfurse they can ask me anything from this book too so why ever not. And hence my last book:

And after this exam fever really came soaring by and I fell into his arms, callously. And now with everything over I keep thinking “Oh Lord, what have I done!!”

April Reads!

As much as I am shocked that we are already down with four months of the year, I think I may have covered up pretty much last month. Well, I am talking about reading and a little bit of writing. I started with having completed nine read books in January but it fell down to only two in the next months. And as for as writing is concerned it is almost on the same level.

But April, 2019, surprisingly was very productive considering my lackadaisical behaviour which lingers all year long!

When it comes to writing, you all know I am down to 30 poetries in the last month, which for sure might need a lot of editing but at the least it is there! And when it comes to reading, well, I think I have pretty much picked up my pace there too. And April, surprisingly was just AWESOME!

Here are the books that I read, some were really mind-boggling, others were good and yet some were disappointing. I am not doing any reviews here, the reviews are on Goodreads, if you want to find out more.

Find out below my April Reads:

1

Now this was HILARIOUS, I mean dealing with a serious issue, but still hilarious. You might want to pick it up if you want to read something a little out of the ordinary, despite the ordinariness.

2.jpg

Go ahead, judge me!!

3

Now this was a little unique. Mystery and demons and magic. Fictitious yet believable.

4.jpg

A simple historical romance, I’d say, but not so simple after all.

5.jpg

Judged again? But honestly, not quite worth it, I mean the book obviously 😉

6.jpg

This was my first with romance and thrill combined, and I was constantly on a roller-coaster ride, trying to find out what the hell happens. Might as well have developed a secret girl crush here.

7.jpg

Okay now some serious reading. (And of course I cannot judge it)

8.png

If the book title and the author itself isn’t enough for you to pick the book up,  then the humour, the mocking and the ideas written should be.

9.jpg

A very short poetry book, and it moves you considering the reality of the tragedy that the poet goes through.

10.jpg

This was my favourite from the month. The fact that that nothing is meaningful and the meaninglessness of life haas always hooked me.

11.png

CUTE! CUTE! CUTE!

12..jpg

Disappointed. Still wondering if to pick up the second one in the series or not!

13.jpg

I hadn’t expected much off it. However, it proved surprisingly great considering the least popularity of the book. In fact some of the passages delve into ‘life’ so much that its sheer simplicity would shock you. A decent historical fiction with wars, romance and a curse to add flavour to the book.

14.jpg

Only ‘some’ teens would like it. NOT MY CUP OF TEA!!!

Yeah, so 14 books in a month, not bad I guess?

What about you guys? What are you reading, what were you reading? Any recent favourites?

I am pretty sure, you won’t keep a book-addict waiting too long!!

A writer’s Musings!

A writers' Musings .jpg

Do share your thoughts on this one.

Do you agree that writers are worth something?

Or do you stand with the others believing that writers are a confirmed, forbearing and a resigned set?

img_2534.png

I do feel so deranged sometimes 😀

img_2322.png

Already Dunk!!

img_2535.png

Come to think of it, it is damn ‘Amazing’.

img_2537.png

Kindly consider the seriousness of the problem.

img_2539

Definitely my struggle!

img_2551.png

I have had a very hearty laugh using this one on people 😀

img_2318.png

Well, sometimes I get so engrossed in the book, that I really don’t put my brains into it, and I am pretty sure I look like this then 😉

img_2313.png

This is how my mum puts me in front of every one. And, let me clarify, I am not ashamed of it, proud may be, but not ashamed 😀

img_2312.png

Well, this IS true, sometimes (Laughs inwardly)
img_2319.pngPlease tell me, you found this funny,

img_2278.png

This!! True!! Totally true!!

img_2277.png

Believe me, this is the only part of the day which I am looking forward to, most of the times.

img_2303.png

Finally, someone said it…

img_2311.png

Oh God, this has given me a good laugh every time I see this.

img_2301.png

See, and yet people tell me I am confused about everything. My priorities are dead clear. I see the look and we seal the deal! Period!!

Hope you had a good laugh, if not, well I am sorry! It’s books we are talking about, so it is important to me and me alone.

Books are and will be a big part of my life.

They have been with me when no one else was.

They have been through me, and been through a lot with me.

When nothing works, a book, empty or otherwise, always comes to my rescue.

So here’s to all the readers and writers, who have a very intelligent and safe addiction of fantasy, having an escape form reality!

Jingle bells jingle bells

Jingle all the way

Santa is coming

Books is, he bringing…

And I am happy

happy.gif

So what books are you getting me this year, Santa?

Santa: Really, books again?

IMG_2979.png

Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!

Santa: You are crazy…

Koi shakh?

Santa: What?

You really need to work on your Hindi. It’s been so many years and still you don’t get me..

Santa: Because all you ever talk about is books..

If that is the case, then tell me what am I getting this year?

IMG_2894.png

But when was I bad, like ever??????? In fact things that you kept sending my way all year long were bad….

IMG_2895.png

Come on Santaaaaaa, please? (Puppy faces here) I wasn’t bad, really….

Santa: Okay fine, I will not give you gift myself but I could at least make sure that you get what you want from someone else. But you can forget getting those wonderful gifts from me. Uh-huh..

Yay.. yay… yayyyyy……..

Santa: Now shut up and tell me what do you need?

BOOOOKKKKSSSSSSSS

IMG_2858.png

Woooooaaaaahhhhhhh! Calm down Sir. No needs for the guns..

Santa: TELL ME IF YOU HAVE READ YOUR TBR PILE?

Santa: Farz my foot!

Hey you did get my Hindi this time.

Santa: (Thinking) Oh just forget it..

So back to my books.

Santa: No way darling! You have probably more books than you can read all year long. All you ever ask from anyone for any event is books. Birthdays is for books, anniversaries is for books, even if someone gets you something you get it exchanged for books. You even buy anything for yourself, it’s all books. I am done with your bookish tantrums now! Anything else you want?

Santa, please?

Santa: Don’t please me with that batting of eyes.

Please?

Santa: Anything else?

IMG_2487.png

Santa: Now really, anything else except for your stupid books and bookish fantasies?

You didn’t say that. TAKE IT BACK!!

Santa: HO HO HO…

Take it back..

HO. HO. HO… HO… (Vanishes into thin air………)

I HATE YOU SANTA (I cry into the nothingness)

*

Well, as I say this I truly don’t hate Santa, because today has been nothing but wonderful day. Below are my Christmas presents, (one of them is by me to me because for a second I really thought that Santa was serious).

SANTA………….. I LOVE YOU

And also, One book came all the way from a very stupid, but a very kind and happy go lucky person, who lives miles away from me. So, Aditi from https://motmagiques.wordpress.com needs a special mention here, for a very wonderful and magical Christmas gift.

IMG_0002

Thank you, thank you, thank you all, (Yeah, right thank you to Santa too. And I think I’ll try to control my bitchy side to avoid this rattle with you next year.)

Till then Merry Christmas 😀

Somethings that only books taught me 😀

img_0042.png
Correct me, if I am wrong. (But, I know, I am not)

img_0043.png

At least I do this all, I repeat ALL the time.

img_0059.png
The picture itself feels liberating.

img_0188.png

Definitely a black belt, unless there is something better than being a black belt. (HAHAHAHA)

img_0219.png

This one gets me laughing, every time I see this 😀

IMG_0311
Koi Shakh?
IMG_1269
Again, koi shakh? Of course we live for books.
