Peace or Pieces?

Gather your pieces and

Walk towards the peace

That you have been pining for.

It is always easy to say that your life is in pieces, always very convenient to blame it on your destiny, or on someone else.

But the reality is that when in distress we simply don’t wish to see the reality hidden beneath the dust of illusion. If only we’d be brave enough to face our very own delusions, our own misgivings, and our faults we would see the truth. We would know where exactly something is wrong. We need to have the courage to tell ourselves that it is enough, and we need to gather ourselves, face the reality, tell ourselves that there is no going back, and resolve to walk with courage anew.

It is time we tell ourselves,

“Gather your pieces and

Walk towards the peace

That you have been pining for,

For the peace ain’t coming running to you.”

I Am Walking!

I am walking down a path

Somewhere, where I am so scared to walk,

Somewhere, where I have always dreaded to walk.

I am walking down a path

To somewhere, where I don’t know the destination

To somewhere, where I don’t know what awaits.

I am walking to someplace

Where? Why? How?

I know not. I am simply walking.

I am walking down somewhere,

Alone, dejected, beaten.

Shivering, shredding, succumbing.

I am walking.

I have no ounce of energy to walk anymore.

No iota of inspiration to walk.

I don’t want to walk.

No, I don’t.

And yet I am.

I want to hold hands,

I want to lie down.

I want to breathe.

And yet, I am walking.

I am walking the steps of a failure

I am walking the painful steps of helplessness

I am walking to an endless space.

I am walking where there are tearful smiles,

Where there are hidden sores,

Where there are only painful stones.

I don’t know what to do.

I want to lie down,

But all I doing is walking, walking, walking…..

PS: I am sorry to be away from all of you. I will be back to all your posts very soon. I will. I am just a little screwed up right now.

I Am!

I am—yet what I am none cares or knows;
My friends forsake me like a memory lost:
I am the self-consumer of my woes—
They rise and vanish in oblivious host,
Like shadows in love’s frenzied stifled throes
And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed
Into the nothingness of scorn and noise,
Into the living sea of waking dreams,
Where there is neither sense of life or joys,
But the vast shipwreck of my life’s esteems;
Even the dearest that I loved the best
Are strange—nay, rather, stranger than the rest.
I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.
John Clare.

If you have known me for a while, you’ll know that I fall in love very easily, and even more easily when the person I fall in love with, writes so beautifully, (or the thing that I fall for is such a wonderful poem) expresses so wonderfully, almost speaks what I want to speak without even having to say it. So after my love for Kamala Das, Sylvia Plath, Bronte sisters, Emily Dickinson, Pablo Neruda, (and of course some Urdu poets which I have come to know about very recently) now I have fallen for this very beautiful man/poet John Clare. Yes, he is my new love, and this poem is my very new addiction that I am reading again and again and yet again.
No, I am not cheating on the others, oh come on I could never do that.  I think I just have an open relationship with all my lovelies. 😉
